Myshire Farm
США
Добавлен 4 мар 2016
Welcome to myshire farm! We are a family owned and operated quail farm based in Ohio that ships all over the USA. We ship over 1,000,000 eggs a year plus live quail. Our true passion is to educate, encourage and ENTHUSE others to become more self sufficient, and we truly believe that Coturix quail is a wonderful START for people that don’t have a lot of experience and a GREAT addition to any backyard or homestead for quality, healthy meat and eggs. Our focus for the future is to bring you more info on how to be self sufficient in other ways as well but quail will always be our #1 choice. We have Angus cow, meat goats, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, bees, hoop house, green house and even a horse. So we hope you join us on our journey to become more self sufficient.

I've never raised quail in the winter outside. Wondering if it's hard to keep there water from freezing. And what you might suggest .They are in cages outside.
Hello from catawba va.
Awesome thank you for your help
Sounds like "the other place" needs Staarlink internet
❤
What if the quail eat the dead flies?
Hello Zeke from Katy Texas
you sir are a valuable member of this community ...👍👍
Hello from West plains, Missouri
Thanks for ur videos...
I think your really inspirational!
It would be intresting to hear The Wifes perspective on watching you go from a brown thumb to Quail King
Quail so far from what Ive learned is a lot like Cannabis cultivation. Hatching is germntion, than you mature, sex, cull males (tough like as a male) and put them under the right light cycle and you get buds/eggs, rinse and repeat
too bad you cant clone the mature sexed ones lol
I follow both channels trying to learn and develop a style. I have not actually got started yet but seeing my two favorites together like this was a huge encouragement. Look forward to building a future together as a team.
That’s great. Good luck on your journey with quail
My cages are outside but covered by 12x12 open sided canopees with tarps that are top sided reflective. For the past 3 years I have formed painters tarp under the cages to catch the poop. With this poop catching method, I have to replace these 2 times a week. This method was very labor intensive and eventually expensive besides very smelly. This year I decided to not use these painters tarps and let the poop hit the ground. I need to say that these cages for egg layers are in an enclosed outdoor 30ftx50ft cage which allows me to have/manage quail on the ground within the same large cage that the egg laying cages are in. This year, the quail can manage the flies that are on the ground. They (the ground quail) also eat any fly larve that the flies lay. ADVANTAGES: no or very little smell !! no or very few flies !! the quail on the ground get more protein !! no expense buying these painter tarps !! Mosquitos are very little !! AND this year I decided to add ringneck pheasants to my hobby !! So, if your birds are outside, think of having a cage that is larger and encloses your egg layer cages and plan to put some birds on the ground. This works for me, much less expense, and easier to manage. I've tried pinesol, lysol, mint, sticky ribbons, fans, other stuff: none of these worked to prevent or repel flies for me. Very good info
My incubator does very well in winter, but hatch rates decrease in summer
You probably want to open up the vent more during summer
I’m about to buy some quail on your site what’s the discount code
We do not have a code at this time
@@MyshireFarm I just ordered👍
It's 4 years later . . . BSFs are GREAT. I just had to present the opportunity for them to spread, they did, and now I have cut my feed bill back about 30%, working on making that 40%. The quail SEE THE WORMS under their cages and start going crazy when I scoop them up, put in a shallow dish/tray in their pen. Anything that falls through, gets a chance to be eaten the next day. I was worried about contamination, but it's not been any problem at all.
That’s great to hear. Congrats
Do you ship to the UK? :)
Not at this time I am sorry
My incubator rolls them on their side...
That is ok
I found this video at the right time for me I will be hatching quail for the 1st time in 8 weeks and was stuck on what to use as a brooder. Now I have the answer
Wonderful. Glad it helped
I was wondering were to buy quail meat, and eggs to eat, would like to try, and see if I like it enough to raise my own, live in southern Ind.

Welcome
I miss you 😢
Hope you can make it to quail con
Is it possible to order Sparkly’s only. I only see sparkly/pansy. I see in the description the pansy’s are not good layers like sparkly’s. Thanks
We only offer them together and the pansy lay just as good as the sparkly and about .5 ounces smaller
@@MyshireFarm your website stats Sparkly- 330 eggs per Year, 13.2 grams Pansy - 280 eggs per year. , 10 gram’s Total yearly egg weight in grams is 4256 vs 2800 . Difference of 1456 grams. That’s a big difference in both quantity and size. Unless the website stats wrong? Please let me know if I’m missing something or if I’m wrong. I’m not trying to be difficult just trying to make the best pic for my situation. Thanks 🙏
This looks so great, but i cant make it, but was wondering if you allow people to visit other times?
Not yet but we are planning on doing one weekend a month but that has not been confirmed
Thank you for always being so informative!! What I’m trying to understand is how do you find new customers & what do you say? I’ve heard one person say that they found their customers at nail salons, but I wasn’t sure if that would be frowned upon, going to their jobs to ask them to buy from me. I am a bit shy/introverted so maybe it’s not that big of a deal. Would love some tips though!! 🙂
If you go to the playlist quail for profit on our RUclips channel we have multiple videos that go over just that and yes nail salons are great
@@MyshireFarm will do, thanks!!
I think these ones are the coolest and I see you sell them to Canada.... 🤔
Absolutely
I think you spreading this info and the birds may save MANY lives as we face these coming times. If my first crack at hatching goes poorly I'm buying from you. 50% guarantee! My only issue is that my incubator cant hold 30 eggs and I don't want to waste them.
You might be able to double up. But they are fresh so always good to eat
You are an awesome reference of information to our shared interest. Talk more about the rat issues though....like ..you're sooner or later gonna accept that if you have any farm animals on property.......but you are an awesome entrepreneur ❤
Thank you

Welcome
Maybe it would have less heat fluctuations if it were round.
I think if they used a better quality styrofoam that would do the trick
I may disassemble mine and paint the interior black, or maybe put a little aluminum light shield behind the LED. The light bleeding from around the edges is probably the issue with the candling light.
Good luck. Bet it would look cool
I am a carnivore. I eat 18 large chicken eggs a day. How many Jumbo Coturnix quail eggs would that equal to? 3 or 4 to one large chicken egg ? Thank you Eric 😊
3 per 1 chicken egg
Egg production? In this video you say Jumbo wilds produce 260-280yr On your website it says 290yr. Which number is the correct amount. Also you say in this video avg egg size is 15grams Website says 14.5 grams. I’m trying to decide between the different Jumbos to order. Thanks
This video is 2 generations ago so the website is updated every 6 months. The website is accurate
@@MyshireFarm thank you for the fast reply
Very well explained thank you
Thanks for watching
Whats the difference between the silver tux vs the silver you showed after with a lot of white also?
Silver tux is a silver quail with all white chest A silver pharaoh has speckles on top of chest to feather sex and the rest of the chest is white
Greetings, great videos, My question is, how do you get the humidity up in theses incubators. Adding water doesn't do it. Should I add hot/warm water during lock down?
Warm water at lockdown and if that does not raise it enough then a bowl with water and a sponge at lockdown in the middle and that will get it up
I just hatched some regular jumbo eggs and got a white wing! I’m super happy about it!
Awesome. Congrats
If you could also assist, my incubator's main fan is not turning on, causing the temperature in the incubator to be very high and the warning sound to keep going off. I have tested the fan with an external power source, and it is running fine. However, it seems the machine is not signaling the fan to turn on.
That I am not sure of. I would contact the manufacturer and they might have a simple solution or might replace
Thank you for the video. I learned a lot from it. Now, when I acquire a separate temperature measuring device, how do I link it to the system so that the incubator reads from it and makes informed decisions?
You would have to manually adjust the incubator, watching the 2nd device
What can I add to increase protein to 30% from feed I bought that only has 22 % protein
